Ive been switching between Firefox and Brave for years trying to find the right balance of privacy and usability. Doda Browser is exactly what I needed. The Memory Engine is the killer feature — I can search my browsing history with full sentences like "that article about rust memory safety from last month" and it actually finds it. No other browser does this. The AI Assistant runs locally via Ollama so nothing leaves my machine. Setup took 5 minutes, imported all my Firefox extensions without issues.

Really solid browser overall. The privacy defaults are great — no telemetry, DuckDuckGo out of the box, fingerprinting protection actually works. Trust OS labels are a nice touch, shows you where content came from. Only complaint is the Passwordless Identity thing is a bit confusing at first and theres not a lot of docs explaining it. Once you get past the learning curve its smooth. Would definitly recommend if youre tired of Chrome eating your RAM and data.

Brave was getting bloated with all the crypto stuff and BAT wallet nonsense. Doda is clean, no bloat, no crypto, just a browser that works. The macro recorder (Programmable Browser) is actually really useful — I automated a bunch of repetitive tasks at work. And it uses Firefox extensions so I didnt lose my password manager or ad blocker. Its also noticeably faster than Firefox was for me. Memory usage is about the same as Brave but feels snappier.

As someone who works in cybersecurity Ive tested pretty much every privacy browser out there. Doda Browser is the first one that gets the balance right. Librewolf is too restrictive (breaks half the sites I visit), Firefox needs 20 about:config tweaks, Brave has the crypto baggage. Doda just works out of the box. The Trust OS feature is genuinly innovative — it labels AI-generated content and tracks provenance. More browsers should do this. Ed25519 wallet for passwordless login is also really clever.

I love the idea of a privacy-first browser that actually innovates instead of just copying Chrome. The Memory Engine search is amazing when it works. Had a couple of crashes in the first week but the devs pushed updates pretty fast. My main issue is the AI Assistant setup — you need to have Ollama installed separately and download models which isnt super beginner friendly. Once its going though its great. Would give it 5 stars if they made the AI setup simpler.

Tried Waterfox, Librewolf, Pale Moon — Doda is the best fork hands down. Keeps full Firefox extension compatibility which is huge. The about:config tweaks they apply by default are sensible (actually tested, not just thrown together). Memory Engine indexing runs in the background and I barely notice it. The search results are scarily good — like it knows what I was thinking. Really impressed with the update frequency too, feels like an actively maintained project.
